What happens when you ask your loyal following of 3 thousand on your Facebook page, if you should stand as County Councillor? It gives Richard Kingstone a stirring in his loins, that’s what it does. Especially when his group of sycophants respond positively to his poll he put up for even more gratification.

Not sure exactly what he’s expecting, but he certainly didn’t put the poll up expecting everyone to say no to it. He’s been criticising and attacking the County Council steadily, went quiet on it for a bit, then surprise surprise comes out with this when the attention dies down. His particular ire has usually been directed at current County Councillor Robert Pritchard whom he plotted against and succeeded in bringing down at the Borough elections. He’s also let up on this recently to give himself an air of respectability and as a fair player, knowing his followers will forget what he’s really like. Well Richard, we here at Debunking don’t forget.

Having previously criticised those who are Borough Councillors and County Councillors, so called ‘double hatters’, and pledging to vote for current Mayor and County candidate Gareth Coates, encouraging his following to do the same, Kingstone has confirmed he’s thinking about standing. We never doubted he would consider it, just like we didn’t doubt he would put his name in the hat for MP and revealed he would drop out at the last minute.

So it remains to be seen if he actually does this. Bear in mind that he’s put posts up several times this year saying how busy he is and having to catch up. Well Quelle surprise! Councillor Kingstone when you decided to advertise yourself some time ago as the miracle worker Councillor for all of Tamworth, it’s kinda what you’d expect non? Sadly we’ve heard too many times that you’re adept at ignoring residents and simply not replying to them at all. How he believes he will make a decent County Councillor is beyond us. It will however come with a fat 10k p.a. pay packet, which no doubt will come in handy for him. However given his comments above about the double hatters, we’d surely expect him, nay demand, that he doesn’t take his County allowance should he be elected.

Our call on this? It’s County, it’s a fairly low bar for him to stand, he believes he has the support, and since the County Council won’t exist soon, as a bucket list alone, we think he might just stand this time. Just don’t expect much out of him if he wins though.
