That campaign trail is quite well worn now, with the stakes ever higher for the next general election. It seems everyone is out and about pressing the flesh meeting and greeting. With the Tories playing defence and Boris apparently not joining them to help fight (we aren’t sure why he would after being screwed over by them) you never know who you are going to run in to.
It seems Councillors Pritchard and Clements have set out to out do eachother tonight, only naturally Clements made the post, showing her meeting James Cleverly Secretary of State for the Home Department (making it sound like he has an important job at IKEA) all about her. Whereas Pritchard, decided to back up Tamworths’ Tory parliamentary candidate Eddie Hughes, whilst simultaneously trumping Clements in the ‘I met someone important’ stakes. Of course, Clements has form for making everything about her, given her past antics at the Mayors dinner, and Pride of Tamworth awards as well as changing Armed forces day to her whim.
We aren’t quite sure that Sunak would ever have disagreed with Pritchard on Eddie Hughes being elected to be MP for Tamworth and those all important villages. What we do know is that Pritchard actually met Sunak when he visited Cannock recently. It seems an opportunity was taken to upstage Clements, which we wholeheartedly support. Since our favourite former Councillor (Hi Andy!) is no longer a Councillor (bye Andy!), we feel the need to bestow the title on Councillor Pritchard (Hi Rob!) for this audacious power move.
