Evidence Reply Part 2.
If a person was to ask a question a full council locally I am sure it would be refused as they are not [Redacted] or portfolio holders.
Not sure on [Redacted] however being in the public interest I am shocked the party involved have allowed it to happen.
It seemed when a person from the same party had issues everyone was all over it.
I just confused as to why a parties constitution would allow it.
[Debunking: Freedom of Information Act request to the [Redacted] maybe?]

Evidence Reply
Obviously a person can not be but…
If said person is a member of a political party locally and [Redacted]. Surely questions should be asked and an investigation as to why (of course without any presumptions)
[Debunking: We aren’t investigative journalists. If someone is concerned enough about it then they could ask the questions. Unfortunately without proof or us knowing things first hand then we won’t, (note, not cannot) publish such serious allegations. We’ve been told plenty enough by readers but our usual sources were keeping shtum.]

Power Mad
Sarah for Moseley wants more electric vehicles on the roads to help the environment. Is she going to push her government to fund the millions of pounds required to install ev chargers at every house and to dig up the pavements at the properties with no drive way, like those on Kettlebrook Road and the Leys. And let’s not talk about those living in the high rise flats, that’s gonna need a load of very long cables hanging down to the ground or hundreds of charging points.
Suggestion to Sarah’s speech writers, before putting pen to paper, actually investigate the current and needed infrastructure. Than again, your boss is too stupid to have you investigate or do it her self..
[Debunking: It’s enough to say you want something to happen these days even though you don’t mean it. No-one cares enough to factor that in to their voting decisions.]

instead of canvassing on the taxpayer funds and posting for ‘homelessness summit’ photographs maybe Natalie and the Labour lot should deal with the rough sleeper living under the the covered part of the town hall!
[Debunking: We made enquiries regarding this. They have apparently been offered help and assistance by council staff (nothing to do with Labour) and it has been refused. No-one should assume that people sleeping rough are actually genuinely in need of help. The town has had it’s fair share of con artists.]

Spud Loss
Light speed have sent those leaflets right across tamworth town centre area. I got mine today, too late to attend of course!
Speaking of the town centre, looks like Spudman lost his battle to keep his chairs and tables out. Barriers removed, Deliveroo drivers catered to over local business and market stalls, who were already negatively affected by the move.
Where’s the forward thinking ‘change’ Labour promised? Where’s the pro business town centre boosting ideas?

If any tourist managed to find their way to Spudman, the nearest benches to eat are at St Editha’s church graveyard and every one of those is broken.
The local business that put Tamworth on the map is starting to struggle, what a shame!
[Debunking: It’s a ridiculous place to put him. He should be on Market Street near the town hall. Hang your heads in shame Labour.]

Sarah Edwards should have resigned over her involvement in the Tamworth hotel riot, it was her horrible words that made people angry and want some kind of (unjust) revenge. It doesn’t take much to boil up a racist and as an MP she should have known this. If she didn’t know it, she’s unfit for the job if she did and carried on regardless she’s unfit for the job.
But I believe we will be waiting and waiting for that resignation. She’s a coward who won’t stand up and admit what she did.

I wonder if these people and past ones also complained about the introduction of dialup etc.
And can’t leave Richard Kingstone out. As elections come closer it is apparent he has upped his pointless ranting game problem is we all know, the good things on social such as positive events or good news gets less interaction than a rant or seemingly bad news which people and trolls flock to like sheep.

Pole Opposite
At the end of the day with the telegraph poles councillors are rightly standing up for residents. On our street they wanted to put them up and many residents didn’t want them so they didn’t put them up.
I think it’s a good thing the councillors taking this up, although maybe they could work together more and get the council to host any meeting rather than an individual, after all it’s happening right across Tamworth.
That said I’d expect the roads more unhappy with it would be the ones with no existing telegraph poles, I’d doubt you’d be that bothered if they are already on a street!
If you look at recent debates on this subject in the House of Commons you can see it’s not just Tamworth residents who aren’t happy either!
[Debunking: Question is, why do those residents not want them? What genuine difference does it make to them that they get so worked up about them? Or are they just objecting for the sake of objecting. Nimbyism is still strong across the country. As for Councillors standing up for residents, there’s the Kingstone way which is drama, and then there’s the Pritchard way which is not. Even if we don’t think he should have bothered. We’ve got used to phone masts. Why not these?]

There are only a two reasons why a councillor would block someone,
1/ because you think you have the right to abuse and bully them at every opportunity.
2/ because you feel threatened by someone and don’t like the fact you’re being called out when you lie.
Our local Labour councillors seem to think number 2 is an acceptable reason to press the block button. Get over yourself (councillors Lewis Smith and Nova Arkney to name a few) and just not tell your constituents bullshit.

Get over yourself and stop manipulating your residents in to thinking it’s all their county councillors fault. They don’t pick the dates and times work happens. But if they didn’t report stuff or get the work done, you’d be slagging them off saying they aren’t doing anything. They can’t win.
Just shut up and let progress happen and stop trying to make out you can do a better job, the work wouldn’t get done faster or on different days if you were their county councillor, it doesn’t work like that.

Remember people there is nothing wrong with long hard poles standing tall on the streets of Tamworth.

Fuss Explanation
I’ll tell you what all the fuss is about. Councillors Oates and Summers are very experienced, they have passion and integrity and it’s those two I’d want fighting in my corner every time. The way they speak in the chamber is incredible compared to any other, always have the room captivated and listening. Most could learn a lot from them.

Local Stories
I know this isn’t directly related to local politics in Tamworth, but I’d like to share 3 stories from recent days on ‘Stonydelph Watch’ on Facebook.
2 days ago – 4 lads on a motorbike, almost causing an accident. Comments from readers are supportive of ‘kids being kids’ and denying parental responsibility because it’s hard being a parent, apparently.
Yesterday – man kicked off bicycle by masked motorbikers
Today – dog killed in non-stop RTC
What should we expect next, and should we be surprised if and when it happens?
Sorry – would have posted links directly to the stories, but they were way too long.
[Debunking: Unfortunately a large proportion of the population are self centred entitled morons whom the rest of us share a country with. It got worse with the pandemic and they took it as excuse to be more brazen about it. People won’t give a toss until they start getting thrown in prison for it. And as we know, the prisons are full.]

Preach!
Let’s remind ourselves!
People of Tamworth you need a reminder, a flashback, a prick in the ear of why the town is now facing a complete shitshow of a labour led council and a town that is falling apart from the edges
And the reminder is Paul ‘Brina’ Brindley – this is a man that failed as a councillor, fraudulently carried on in the town and also like the Pied Piper of Hamlyn broke councillor confidence, threw people under the bus and also lied to make you vote wrong
We now have to pay for this idiot – if I see you in the town again I’ll take that fat grin off your face
Cheers Brina you tosspot

Square Work
After hearing on Central tv news today 5/11/24 that Tamworth Council are going to put boarding up in front of the shops in Central Square to start work on revamping the Square. The work will take 6 months and will most certainly cause most shops to close, end of businesses altogether!!!
I now know Tamworth Council is made up of a load of complete utter IDIOTS, doing this before the College is finished could result in damage to any work done on the Square.
As for the Mamion House project who will work there? New employees laws coming in via the government deputy prime minister will give all employees to choose to work from home. What will the building be used for? Good waste of millions of pounds again by the Tamworth Council, WELL DONE AGAIN and they should be!!! From a disgruntled resident paying Full Council Tax.

I am guessing the poster does not actually know I am an admin of that page along with others and I was asked to post it on behalf of another person. (The same thing I would do from any political spectrum who asks me to post stuff)
What is clear though is a lot of people in politics are actually scared to post their own items to the page, good, bad or ugly or even comment as they are scared to have posts like that made at them.
For me I’ll just take the hit, i’m a bit more thicker skinned than most and with more brain cells.
However I am smirking at how it has really go on somones nerves, I mean you could just ask me like any normal person would do. And it’s not a complicated process to do it either.

If so then shouldn’t he know that if someone takes hardly any time then it’s a bad thing. Plus Labour rushed it to prove a point, they don’t care if it was asked for (which I doubt) or not. At the moment they are living off everything the Tories started they at least need one thing they can say they did.
But Chris Cooke sounds like he knows nothing at all, he can sit back and watch Tamworth’s money burn, just like the rest of us.

Wasn’t the Labour ‘housing summit’ earlier this year intended to address those issues?
Whilst Natalie emulates her boss in being ‘all photos and no action’, she should take the time to ask her boss what local authorities and local landlords actually think about the forthcoming Section 21 changes and their impact on the local housing market.
It is after all local landlords who are picking up the slack when there are no social homes available.
If Natalie had ever read the ‘advice’ issued within the standard letters that Tamworth Borough Council’s housing team provide, and actually checked the resources they signpost residents towards, she would see a very grim picture indeed.
The funny thing is, she would encounter these ‘advice’ letters frequently in her role as a councillor and as staff for the MP.
Privately rented accommodation is a key route out of homelessness the majority of those at risk. So let’s not make it even more difficult, expensive and frustrating for landlords to provide these useful services.

This people come from War torn countries where they are being murdered, raped and tortured in some cases made to watch while these things happen to family members. We are lucky to live where and how we do, this was such a selfish thing to declare and has shown Tamworth the kind of MP she is. She’s not fit to represent us as this is not what we want the rest of the country and world to think we are like.

Noses In The Air
Why do Labour still insist on creating apartheid in 2024, when the Tories were in power and held drinks after a meeting Labour would never stay. Doesn’t matter what’s said in meetings, the Tories wouldn’t let that affect how they spoke with other councillors afterwards, Labour just stick their noses in the air and walk on by. Shameful really in this day and age.
Published: 23/10/2024
Contributions
If you watch meetings you will clearly see that most people don’t speak at all, Helen Hadley might have 100% attendance but what does she actually contribute to meetings (nothing, unless she’s reading out a text message that Carol Dean sent her from the back of the room).
Some cllrs just love the sound of their own voices (Couchman for a start) but mostly don’t contribute either.
Published: 23/10/2024
What’s Acceptable?
Out of curiosity how many meetings do you think is acceptable to not attend? How can you be the voice for your ward when you’re not there? I think any under 50% is shocking and there really is no excuse for that. Some of these councillors have no social media presence, no Facebook pages, awful attendance but that’s all meant to be ok? Just checked and the only councillors with 100% are Sam Smith and Helen Hadley. Just shows doesn’t matter the party as there are bad and good in both. Some can be bothered and some clearly can’t.
[Debunking: If you watched most of the meetings you’d wonder why anyone ever attends them. They’re not dealing with ward specific matters and they’re mostly never directly giving the views of their wards anyway. Which would be almost impossible in most cases. Worst still, they’re not allowed to make decisions. As Councillor Price said, people can be ill, they’re human beings.]
Published: 23/10/2024
Half Dead
Cllr Ben Price you are right but you’re missing one important point, Cllr Helen ‘heartless’ Hadley said no one is allowed anytime off no matter what the reason.
So Cllrs remember, if you’re half dying don’t forget about your meetings as they come before your health.
Published: 23/10/2024
Attendance Context
Just some context on the councillors attendance stuff, not all councillors are expected to attend the same amount of meetings which can skew attendance figures for better or worse granted.
1 Janice Wadrup 33% – Independent – attended 3 of 9
2 Richard (Man of the People) Kingstone 56% – Independent – attended 5 of 9
3 Ben Price 62% – independent – attended 10 of 16
4 Lee Clarke 58% – Labour – attended 7 of 12
5 Sarah Daniels 69% – Labour – attended 9 of 13
Councillors miss meetings for varying reasons and shouldn’t be judged on that alone, you have to remember 90% of the time councillors have full time jobs which can clash with meetings. Councillors are also human and get ill just like everyone else and they also have family’s and are entitled to holidays.

There’s a Tory and Independent on 33% and 36%! Be fair and mention that. Anything under 50% is disgraceful! Funnily enough the people with high attendance are the better councillors from all parties.
[Debunking: The attendance debate is not one we like. Simply because it is no reflection on how good a Councillor is, especially when it comes to helping residents. Meetings are where most Councillors are generally used as voting fodder. Or nothing useful comes out of them. The last poster was pointing out Labours’ fallacy in making a big deal of it at the election. As we did.]

Ignoring them and allowing them to continue will only lead to negative consequences for everyone – and some of them live in our town too!
[Debunking: It’s difficult because it’s a slippery slope from not allowing one group with their beliefs (wrong or not) to encroaching further. Marmion house hadn’t been used properly for years, so I wonder if the old plumbing is still up to scratch, and the out dated toilets, the place will be cold and cost a fortune to heat up. Richard Kingstones tip off of 10Million is looking more and more likely.

Dragged Back
Feel bad for the staff having to work in Marmion House…The building is so old and not well maintained. Heating is on randomly, as are the lights. The offices aren’t modern or welcoming spaces.
Labour might be spending thousands re-doing the front for customers but staff need a morale boost too.
Especially if they’re got to be dragged back there after years of WFH.
C’mon so called ‘workers party’ sort it out.
[Debunking: They’ve not been the workers party for many decades. Even when they think they’re helping workers they’re missing the bigger picture and messing something else up. Council workers are likely to be dragged back into those offices at some point. They want their monument to their own vanity back.]

Stop with the moaning about winter fuel allowance it’s getting boring.
Those that no longer get it didn’t need it and have plenty of money, look at councillors allowance for example. We can’t live off that but we cope anyway, we get on with it and don’t moan we want more. Pensioners get enough.
[Debunking: Pensions aren’t what they used to be, and they certainly were not designed to pay exorbitant rents in a time when you’d have paid off your mortgage. Unless you’ve had to live on a pension, you’re not qualified to talk about it. If they’d created criteria to avoid the wealthy having it then fine. They instead squeezed those who sit just outside of pension credit. They will struggle bitterly. If you find social issues that affect people boring then maybe you shouldn’t be a human being.]

“Tamworth CLP calls for an immediate ceasefire, in impeded aid into Gaza, the recognition of Palestine as part of a renewed peace process, and Labour playing a full diplomatic role.”
It didn’t go through but what has the MP and the local councillor group done since to support this motion put forward by their very own local Party members?
Is it a case of them not listening to their membership? Not caring? Or just being career focussed?

Tonight we will see just what a whipped party looks like, Labour have 18 councillors and you can’t tell me that all 18 agree with the reopening of Marmion house. But you watch them all vote in unison.
Margret Clarke has also been on the side of our beautiful Tamworth heritage, there is no way she would be in favour of slapping a plaster on Marmion house over taking care of our wonderful town hall. That building is very much apart of Tamworth’s long history and long may it stay there. But if Labour have their way it will be left to crumble, while the big brown monstrosity of Marmion house has money thrown at it year after year.
This is a plea to Margret Clarke, let your voice be heard tonight and do the right thing for our towns heritage.

How on earth can you support this when our country was handing over control to a European banking organisation carrying out a communistic social experiment led by an incompetent failed, potentially criminal politician, go research Van der Liareden, that has led to many nations in Europe being broke, richer nations carrying unsustainable debt and our nation currently paying £8 million a day to house illegal immigrants, this due to EU policies. You’ve given people a space they can come to, to air their frustrations have their opinions heard and read bullshit being called out at last. It’s been a breath of fresh air in the political world. Who ever you are the fact you call out people of any party shows what a trustworthy person you are and the integrity you hold. 🙏🏻

Protocols
Watching the planning meeting from tonight and it seems the applicants are now able to answer questions and all sorts. Just wondered does this break protocols? It used to be quite strict. Not sure the planning chair actually has a clue to be honest!
[Debunking: We understand that it is allowed if the chair wants it to happen. If you’ve seen planning meetings before, the council planners are sometimes asked questions they can’t answer, and the person in the room who could wasn’t allowed to speak. So it does make sense. Although controlling the meeting when you let this happen is another matter.]

Carol Dean is scared of looking weak to the opposition and the public, she wants everyone to think she has total support from her cllrs. But by suppressing them and not letting them use their own brains and voices she’s setting of the start of the up rising, it’s coming Carol and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.
[Debunking: That’s exactly the vibe we get from her. She’s not competent or compassionate enough to be a leader.]

If “whiplash” is from a Labour councillor remember your party slogan, people before party. If you don’t agree with it then actually say so, and vote against it if you believe that’s the right decision. According to your leader though it’s what you all want, go along with it and we can only presume that’s true.
[Debunking: Precisely, vote with your conscience. We know that the Tory party allow their people to object, because that’s what free will is. Unfortunately Labour aren’t the party or free will and it shows. What on earth is there to be scared of, Carol Dean?]

Banning Not The Answer
Banning far right groups like Britain First from marching through towns like ours may seem like an obvious solution to stop the spread of their toxic ideologies. However silencing them by banning them doesn’t necessarily address the root of the issue.
Freedom of speech something we often hear about is important even for those with extreme and hateful views it is a cornerstone of democratic societies like ours. It allows these voices to be heard scrutinised and ultimately rejected by the public.
When groups like Britain First are allowed to speak openly their arguments can be challenged directly. We can confront their attempts to scapegoat migrants and marginalised communities showing that their rhetoric is based on fear, lies and racism.
Banning them empowers the nut jobs thinking that it’s a government conspiracy, allows them to think and push that concerns about immigration are ignored. It could further push these groups underground look at modern day Germany with how their far right has grown, by banning we allow their ideologies to fester in private without scrutiny.
The strength of a society isn’t just in shutting down hate but in standing up to it. By confronting their narratives in public spaces we not only protect the rights of the vulnerable but also strengthen the case for tolerance, diversity of thought and inclusion. Letting these groups march gives the community an opportunity to come together and show that their messages of division are not welcome here. Ultimately, it’s through debate engagement and solidarity that such harmful ideologies can be dismantled not by simply trying to silence them.
After all Britain first has been around for 13 years and has shown very little mass movement, little to no electoral success and most people see them for what they are.
[Debunking: We agree, keeping your nutters where you can see them is preferable.]

Did the Nazis follow the correct process and obtain the necessary permissions for their event?
Were the police and local council notified in advance about the planned gathering, including details such as the date, time, location, and expected number of participants?
If so, who granted those permissions, and what was the reasoning behind it?
Published: 06/10/2024
Out Of The Darkness
Why are there Nazis and the far right operating openly in our town centre?

How many of these individuals are locals, and how many have been bused in from far away?
Some might think it’s acceptable to target migrants or people of colour, which is not, and we must remember that Nazis and the far right don’t stop there.
Their ideology extends to persecuting LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and anyone who doesn’t fit their narrow view of society. If we stand by and let them operate freely, we risk never removing their presence from our town.
This is not just a problem for one group; it threatens the rights and dignity of us all, echoing the rise of the black shirts in the 1930s, when extremist groups sought to intimidate and disrupt entire communities.
Where are all the veterans who were so eager to protect the Sir Robert Peel statue? They seem to be nowhere to be found now.
Britain First employs tactics similar to those used by the Nazis and far-right groups like the black shirts in the 1930s. Both movements rely on fear-mongering, scapegoating marginalized communities, and using provocative rhetoric to gain support. They exploit societal tensions and economic hardships to rally followers, portraying themselves as protectors of a threatened national identity.
Just watch the mailbag – defend the indefensible

Foolish
Labour is suggesting that the troll run in the County elections?
Surely no one is foolish enough to get involved with him—politically, socially, or in business. It would be a complete disaster – – it’s all a suicide mission.
Brina: the social outcast and business risk. – the social pariah & business hand grenade.
The idea – of a begging to stand meeting list, Danny and Michelle Cook? – Anyone who leaves a party to become independent and then switches to the opposition faster than Gordon with elf ears has no credibility.
Additionally, the hassle of having Wadrup back comes with more than just the headache.

It is like an episode of EastEnders so unrealistic and dramatic…………………….

Question to Marion Couchman, how does the fight against Browns Lane part 2 go on after the application has gone through on appeal. Plus, what exactly are you going to do when the original application was under Lichfield District Council and so far, all you have done is make a few social media posts and have illegal private meetings with Labour councillors from Lichfield.
You’ve been on the planning committee long enough to know you shouldn’t be discussing planning applications with committee members in private, or don’t the rules count for you.

Well a couple of things come to mind.
Firstly Couchman on 30 September writing about the Ashby Road sewerage problem. If she wants to know what’s going on maybe she should contact the county councillor who I believe was posting and in communication with the appropriate authorities 6 to 8 weeks ago.
I understand she might be a bit slow, but really!
Then seeing the pretty little things selfies, did Danny Cook get the role of supporting the labour councillors on how to debate? I’m guessing there was incentive for him.

Contractor Answer
To answer the last letter it was stated at a recent meeting it wasn’t the council contractor but Nationwide’s that had run into difficulties, and they have found a new one already.
Published: 04/10/2024
Contractors
After reading the reports in the Tamworth Herald about the collapse of the building contractor ISC, the newspaper report seems cautious, offering little detail about which of ISC’s other contracts for the town centre regeneration might be impacted. Has anyone conducted emergency risk assessments on other contractors, such as Kier and the college, to take action before it’s too late, potentially avoiding a situation similar to the mess with the old precinct?
ISC was responsible for continuing the regeneration of Middle Entry, including the new entrance to the castle, i.e., removing the old Nationwide bank.
Why is no one asking more questions or providing additional information when they clearly know more?

Marmion House
Conservatives Marmion House options?
Considering no public questions, the options left by the constitution aren’t too much, they can either refer it to overview and scrutiny or put forward a motion .
Personally they should take a bold step by submitting a motion that forces the Labour council to choose between reopening Marmion House and committing to the regeneration of the town centre. This motion would put Labour on the spot especially if it is further ammended by the conservatives to be more fleshed out during the meeting, so Labour can’t be reliant on officers experience this would make Labour justify why they’re prioritising the refurbishment of an outdated building over much-needed town improvements.
With significant funds potentially tied up in reopening Marmion House the Conservatives can argue that Labour’s decision runs counter to the broader interest of Tamworth. The town’s economy would benefit far more from investment in new infrastructure public amenities, and business friendly projects. Forcing Labour to make this choice would expose their true priorities.
This would not only highlight the contrast between the two parties but would also give the Conservatives a powerful message for their electoral leaflets. They could position themselves as the party focused on growth and community regeneration while portraying Labour as stuck in the past, throwing money at inefficient solutions like Marmion House.
By pushing a motion the Conservatives can demonstrate they are actively holding Labour accountable and that their own policies are aimed at delivering real value to Tamworth’s residents.
