The Right ‘Honourable’ PR Disaster Sarah Edwards seems to have realised that her reputation has gone down the shitter. So she’s decided to take some action on the matter.

Meet ‘Brand Strategist’ and Labour activist Thom Baker everyone:

Thom, or Thomas as he actually is officially known (this is just his cool Liberal name) based in Derby (note the location) is currently working as a paid consultant for Sarah Edwards, and has been busy popping up on Tamworths’ various social media pages, trying to make inroads into Sarah’s toilet based reputation. Apparently, he’s not the only one either, he’s just the one we found first. Take a look at these:

Here’s Thom saying he contacted Edwards and got a reply ‘within 24 Hours’. Interesting how you’d need help from Edwards rather than your own MP in Derby. She actually wouldn’t have been able to assist you and would have to pass you on to them. Let’s not let details get in the way though hey Thom?

Okay, so far so good. It does however get better:

Oh would you look at that. Bless Thom, he’s trying his best to gradually improve his clients likeability by making comments designed to be relatable to residents current thinking and endear her to them. After all Sarah’s not so bad is she, c’mom guys! See, even we can do it here at Debunking. What a strategy! Let’s take Tamworth people for mugs, they won’t notice (sadly probably true for most). We wonder how much she’s paying him, and let’s hope it’s through the party and not parliament…. On his LinkedIn profile, Thom is down as having previously worked as a web designer for Tamworth Labour party. So he’s likely being paid for through the party and Edwards hasn’t been that silly, or she’d be in lots of trouble.

So Derby based Thom, whose Linkedin profile will possibly be private shortly, is just sharing Sarah’s posts on Tamworth Facebook group ‘For information’. Gotcha Thom, sterling work there. Thom has also worked as a paid consultant for Derby Labour party previously. He’s not the only one paid for consultantcy by Edwards, former Councillor Simon Peaple is also on the books as a consultant, but we are unsure whether this is still through IPSA (Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority) as it was when she got elected.

We all know she needs help

So next time you see Mr Baker popping up on the likes of Spotted Tamworth Town Centre, doing his bosses bidding, tell him Debunking Tamworth said ‘Hi Thom!’. If you spot anyone else doing what Thom is doing, then please be sure to contact the Shill Spot Hotline. We presume these posts were just the start of his assistance to test the water, before ramping it up to full blown loving testimony of Edwards.

As for Sarah Edwards, oh deary me. How unpopular have you got to be to pay someone to get people to like you? We are quite surprised that the local Labour party would even consider shelling out for such a thing given that most of them didn’t want Edwards as their parliamentary candidate in the first place. Maybe now since they’re stuck with her, and the local Labour council group are also nosediving along with the government, they’re having to take desperate measures. Lucky those Union paymasters have deep pockets, as we can’t imagine Consultants come cheap, even those that already love their clients work.

Updated: Here’s Thom’s response to the people calling him out on Facebook. Unfortunately Thom seems to think he should threaten legal action against us for daring to suggest what we suggested. Make your own mind up from this: PS Thom: We never asked anyone to harass you whatsoever. In our opinion, you had to be paid by either her or the party to do what you were doing.
