This is The Right Honourable ‘WTF are you doing’ Sarah Edwards’ latest post. It’s telling us all about National Apprenticeship Week, which was as she says, last week. This is the kind of filler crap she posts regularly along with the relentless photos in front of boards promoting the numerous causes she pretends to support to gain favour and have content for her office staff to post (Hi Natalie! Hi Simon!).

Here’s some more meaningless drivel from this weekend:

It seems from this post, she thinks her most recent ‘achievement’ was getting Tamworth Castle on a list. Wow, amazing. Tamworth Castle has had hundreds of thousands pumped into its’ wellbeing from the previous Tory administration the entire time they were in power. It was never at risk to the extent she is making out, but it does of course need ongoing protection, a bandwagon she is keen to jump on. Edwards trying to make our ‘her campaigning’ was anything to do with the castle being added to the list is rather interesting. Historic England have to compile a register every single year of Heritage sites at risk, it is literally their statutory job having been founded in 2015 under a Tory Government. They also take sites off the register when they are no longer at risk, so it’s not like it’s any skin off their nose to add more. It would be pretty remiss of them to ignore Tamworth Castle, and we are very confident they are capable of doing their job without an MP sticking their oar in.

She should be more concerned about her Labour colleagues on the Borough Council shutting down the historic Town Hall without any plan to use and therefore preserve it. Perhaps that’s why she felt the need to get ‘involved’ publicly in this, since she couldn’t trust Councillor Carol Dean and Co to do this themselves, since, y’know, the Castle belongs to the Council…

Edwards also decided to double down on the utter bollocks she spouted in relation to the Gungate roadworks, in her ill judged naked effort to boost her Labour colleagues County Council election chances. Evidently she and her team are completely deaf to the torrent of comments made under her first post telling her that she’s utterly wrong. Helpfully posing in front of the hotel and restaurant Labour use as their party HQ during election times, showing it was in no way restricted to traffic and therefore unlikely to have lost £700 in business. She continues to insist that communication from the County Council was poor, which reeked so much of a bovine by-product that even former Edwards sympathiser Councillor Richard Kingstone decided to call her out on it.

All of this unimportant, downright lies and pointless drivel was posted across this weekend, whilst a more pressing issue was rumbling to a crescendo. That’s right, the screwing over of Spudman, who has found that he is now unable to move back to his original pitch, that he’s spent decades on building up both his businesses and the profile of Tamworth. Edwards despite constantly using Spudman for her own political gain during her elections, (and tagging an imposter in her posts in the process), has been nowhere to be seen. She hasn’t rode in on her white horse to pledge her support for Spudman. Are you shocked? Well you shouldn’t be, since that pesky Labour group are her party colleagues, and she’s not going to criticise them is she? Former Tory MP and contender for the Tamworth seat Eddie Hughes certainly hasn’t been backwards in coming forward, throwing his support behind Spudman.

Rather than calm the situation, Councillor Carol decided to release the following extremely ill advised statement:

Ben Newman, Spudman, himself immediately debunked the claim that he was being moved only a few metres away, and expressed his fear that being put in front of the church would soon cause issues. He was also incredulous that he has been shoved out of the way in favour of a flower bed that isn’t even built yet. We understand that Newman has shelled out a considerable amount on a new customised container to sell his spuds back on the square and is rightly concerned and confused as to how he is being treated. So much so he has decided to ‘lawyer up’.

Of course Carol Dean could have easily put minds at rest and said no to flowerbeds and yes to Spudman. They’ve got form for that having stopped funding for the Castle grounds flowers last time they were in power, at least this would be a good cause. Instead she’s proven she’s as tone deaf as Sarah Edwards, so much so there’s even a petition to oust her as leader, which we understand is quite unprecedented. Spudman has his own petition here.

As the Labour government, Sarah Edwards MP and Councillor Carol Dean lurch from one public disaster after another, aren’t you so glad that we have this Labour shitshow for many more years to come?
