We’ve decided to fully close, as you might guess. In our last post, we said we may not come back and we aren’t going to. It has been an interesting few years, and we’ve learned a lot more about what really goes on behind the scenes of the Tamworth political scene in particular. Of course, when we first came online, it was with the aim of countering the troll Paul Brina Brindley who continues to spill hate, misinformation and lies to this day. We are happy that another entity is going to be taking up the baton on this one and hopefully collectively joining together interested parties in legal action against him for the tens of thousands he owes them. They will never get compensation for how they were treated by him, and how badly they came off mentally from his actions . One day all of it might bite Brindley in the ass, we can only hope. More than anything we got under Brina’s skin, evidently given the rage he has put towards people he holds responsible. Rather than become a decent human being and stop his antics, he kept pushing and behaving like a petulant child who couldn’t get his own way. All he had to do was stop lying, stop being vile, stop spreading bullshit, treat people right, and he couldn’t and still won’t.
We want to make only one apology as we leave you, and that is to Andrew Cooper (Hi Andy!), once Councillor and candidate for MP. Whilst the material we used was freely available for quite some time online, in retrospect, publishing it was as we have previously said, not something we needed to do and didn’t fit our goals at the time. We know people who visit this site love gossip, but that wasn’t what we were about. So for that Andy, we apologise and also thank you for bringing attention to this site in the first place and giving it a kick start. We are just sorry that your so called friend decided he couldn’t be as magnanimous as you and let the matter drop, and has now put his and your names and material you didn’t want the world to see again back into the public domain.
We said it before and we will say it again, fighting misinformation is sometimes like pissing in the wind. It was a noble goal, and maybe we made a few people a bit wiser to what was going on in Facebook groups and within the Council (whilst occasionally going off track). In which case we are happy we gave it a try and it has been cathartic.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped us including… As if we were going to name anyone now. You know who you are. Thank you to everyone who has overwhelmingly supported the site and we’ve appreciated so much the contact you’ve had with us privately and via the Mailbag. The Mailbag, the most happy part of this site for us, without that launching we probably wouldn’t have lasted this long.
For now everyone, thank you for reading, be decent, be the amazing people we know you are who actually care and have to live with mostly morons who are going through probably the worst wave of entitlement we’ve ever seen this country go through. You are not alone.
The Mailbag will stop publishing responses in 10 days time. The site will drop offline roughly a month after that. You will still be able to contact us and we are always happy to add to our collection of useful information to aid us where we may need it. We might just might be back one day who knows, but we can’t see it right now.
Thank you again. Be excellent to one another.
Goodbye.
