If Reform Win Here, It’s Because Labour Screwed the Pooch

Let’s not dress it up, if Reform manage to win a majority in Staffordshire County Council and particularly in Tamworth this time, it won’t be because they’ve put in the hard miles locally, it’ll be because Labour have completely screwed the pooch, both in the county and nationally.

Since 4th April, Labour haven’t posted a single thing on their local social media channels. No photos of canvassing, no evidence of street stalls, no local pledges, nothing. They’re missing in action, at the very moment people are looking for answers on council tax, local services, and the future of Staffordshire.

What’s even more staggering is that they’ve been in charge. Labour have controlled the borough council and their record speaks for itself:

Council tax? Highest it’s ever been.

Parking charges? Introduced just as small businesses are crying out for support.

Local icons like Spud Man? Targeted with bureaucracy instead of celebrated.

Labour’s priorities seem to be punishing residents and chasing headlines, but sadly it’s not been positive.

Nationally of course It’s chaos, so it’s no suprise they do not want to door knock and come face to face to the residents they screwed over.

Reform have seized on this disillusionment, but let’s not pretend they’ve offered a real alternative. No local policies. No serious campaign. Just national talking points and a few eye catching slogans. Their pitch is simple: “We’re not Labour” or “illegal immigrants are bad” And for some frustrated voters, that’s enough.

But make no mistake, if Labour’s vote collapses and hands Reform seats, that’s not a win for Reform, that’s a failure of Labour to campaign, to lead, and to deliver.

If Labour continue to take Tamworth for granted, they’ll lose more than votes.
