First off, Happy Mother’s Day (yeah we’re late, but better late than never). Our mother sent us to the workhouse when we were 6, and we rescued the email urchin from one 3 years ago, so hence the operators of this site are somewhat bitter and twisted. It doesn’t stop us saying it to those celebrated mothers without any agenda though. We truly mean it.

Now you’ve already seen the screenshot and read what our MP the right honourable PR pariah Sarah Edwards had to say for Mother’s Day, and she couldn’t say it without paying tribute to her cult the Labour Party. We of course think this is appalling, since there are just some precious times where politics should be kept well out of the way, and politicians should read the room. This is one of those occasions. Unfortunately she just can’t help herself and is likely still trying to get into Sir Starmers good books after smarting from losing her pre election promotion. Save for a few of her hangers on, her tone deaf message fell flat:

Contrast this with the Tory prospective parliamentary Candidate Eddie Hughes, who doesn’t have any skin in the game for another few years anyway:

And what of Labour controlled Tamworth Borough Council? This was their Mother’s Day message:

Yep, they completely ignored it, and worse still in a town where racial tension is somewhat high to say the least. Keep stoking that fire TBC. Having a happy Eid message is all well and good, but ignoring this countries major celebration of their mothers? Not exactly helpful is it? It is however very on brand for Labour.

Naturally this didn’t go down well in the comments either.

Is it too much to ask that a Council that commissioned expensive consultancy work on community cohesion, (having been given funds thanks to the riots), and currently having ‘honest conversations’ with Councillors and residents about why the riots happened; take a look at themselves and consider that seemingly small actions like ignoring Mothers Day might not help with said community cohesion?

Its rather concerning that our locally elected representatives of the Labour persuasion couldn’t give a toss about holidays and celebrations native to this country. They wonder why people get wound up. It never ever excuses racial hatred or violence, but it helps feed the narrative of those that would stir this for their racially or ethnically minded attacks. As we’ve said before, the less savoury political elements become the only ones willing to say anything, and gradually gain support. Tamworth Borough Council should be ashamed of heading down this dangerous road. As for Edwards, the sooner she is no longer our MP the better, she has no interest beyond pushing and promoting her own party.
