Today, the Right Honourable Bullshitter Sarah Edwards MP took her concerns about Tamworths’ roadworks to, drumroll, the House of Commons. It’s such important business for the house, and they needed to be made aware of Tamworth Town centre being ‘obliterated’ by roadworks. Only as per usual she’s talking out of her posterior. (We know of course she didn’t write this post, these works of manure are written by her staff Labour Councillor Natalie Statham and former Councillor Simon Peaple, btw guys it’s losing not loosing).

Edwards makes the rather interesting statement that “businesses, residents and schools have all had very little communication over the works”. This is interesting, since what does she define as ‘very little’. Did the County Council send a single word on a letter ‘Roadworks’ but with no further detail? Did they start a game of Chinese whispers that started with ‘we’re doing roadworks’ and ended up as ‘the hamster is doing a moon walk’? Of course they didn’t. Decide which it is Sarah, they either got communicated with, or they didn’t. Pretty pathetic statement to make if you ask us. She also makes the assertion that they are ‘shambolic roadworks’, which again we would love to know what she means by that since the road crews are professionals just doing their jobs. They don’t deserve to be thrown under a bus by a career MP.

If you didn’t know about the roadworks that the town centre were having, then you are living under a rock. As for businesses losing income along the stretch of road, we can’t quite imagine how, since they’ve not yet extended beyond Aldergate. Who exactly is losing business that doesn’t generally rely on foot traffic in that small area? We can only think of a Labour friendly business that will back Edwards up and that’s a certain hotel and restaurant on the stretch they use as their election HQ. Edwards claimed that a hotel has ‘lost £700 in business in 24 hours’, which is interesting since it was still fully accessible the last time we looked.

We of course know why Edwards has chosen to make this statement in the House now. The County elections are in May, hence the need to create content to help her Labour colleagues in win the County seats in Tamworth, which they actually are expecting to do. It seems the complete disaster that the Labour government has been so far will keep steamrollering on and have you believe everything is hunky dory in their world. Unfortunately a large number of gullible people swallow down everything spewed by Edwards even if provably false. Not even this website sadly makes it to enough people to make them think critically about the information they are presented with. She has however been the subject of some enlightened comments under her post.

Let’s see how long those comments last. We particularly like the one from the lady who lives in Birmingham who commutes through Tamworth and was fully aware of the works. Also kudos to the person pointing out that this is a poor use of her speaking time, and even self styled ‘right wing thug’, ‘David for Tamworth’ commenting that it’s rather pointless complaining to a bloke hundreds of miles away. Edwards has never been shy of utterly wasting her parliamentary time talking shite. Someone even mentioned he who Labour shall not name Councillor Robert Pritchard, praising him for keeping residents informed, even having leaflets delivered to do so, so we were informed via a Mailbag post.

Talking of Councillor Pritchard. He responded with incredulity to this blatant show of parliamentary muck spreading.

As Councillor Pritchard states “We can disagree about politics, but it is very disappointing that our MP wants to undermine work to improve our town out of desperation to win a few votes”. Considering the amount of complaints we had in Tamworth about the roads, and social media posts and leaflets made by Labour during the local Borough Council elections bitterly complaining about potholes, you really should be concerned with this latest demonstration of lying through their teeth and stopping at nothing to discredit their target. If this is how things are just a few months before the elections, can you imagine the gigantic piles of bovine excretion they will put through your doors (or rather posted by the unions for them) in weeks to come?
