Councillor Jan Wadrup decided to ask on Facebook the question that is on every Labour Councillors mind at the moment. We say on their mind simply because they’re the only ones that actually want it to happen in reality. Of course, we are talking about the reopening of Marmion House for front desk services. Not all Labour Councillors were happy that the question had been asked so directly though.

Councillor Marion Couchman, Labours’ veteran attack dog, decided to jump in and cast scorn all over her former colleagues poll, suggesting that it was both different from when she voted in it, and that some people had voted twice, so making it ‘very dodgy’. Now as you’ll see above, there are two polls inexplicably created by Councillor Wadrup, one iteration created on the Glascote Facebook page, and one created by Wadrup on her own page, subsequently shared by Councillor Richard Kingstone. This is where Couchman decided to vent her displeasure.
So Marion, it seems you’re not the details person you make yourself out to be. Considering you have made a point recently at meetings stating how you’ve been through all meeting minutes relating to decisions made to try and score points. It seems you can’t even tell completely separate surveys apart. It also seems likely that your Labour friends and colleagues are happy to vote in both, notably Stephen Andrews who is Labours local campaign manager. Hardly surprising he voted yes, we wonder how many of the respondents are genuine residents rather than mobilised Labour activists who are generally very prolific on social media compared to their counterparts.
It has been suggested rather cheekily that Marion has a special interest in Marmion House reopening, since she is unable apparently to walk to the Town Hall without difficulty or feeling unsafe. Rumours are that the Council are considering a fleet of electric scooters for the more elder and less abled of our Councillors who were brought back from retirement since Labour couldn’t find enough candidates in the last local elections. Okay we made up the Scooter fleet bit we admit. There is one elder Councillor who wouldn’t need a scooter and that’s the legendary Margaret Clarke who is still very much going strong. We do wonder what she really thinks (given her involvement in Town heritage) about her colleagues plans to throw money into a crumbling building rather than invest it in the town hall.
Shock horror, despite pushing for Labour to win the election, banging on about better people needing to run the town, it seems this idea has even irked our troll Paul Brina Brindley who had this to say.

Naturally he said it in as many words as he could, with the necessary emojis and exclamation marks trademark of the troll mind. He also decided that ‘Better minds for a best solution needed!’. Does that mean troll boy has fallen out with Labour already? Fancy that.
If you fancy helping out with Jan Wadrups’ poll then you can do so here if you’re on Facebook. We shall be watching with interest.
