If Sarah Edwards MP for Tamworth had an early night tonight, she’s going to have a rude awakening in the morning. This tweet from earlier this week, following a speech in parliament, shows Sarah naïvely playing with fire to score points. In her speech and indeed during her election campaign, she had made plenty of statements regarding the Asylum hotel. Which as we type this is still we believe under siege from right wing racist thugs.

Rather than understand a difficult political situation, Edwards stirred the pot when it came to the hotel repeatedly calling for it to be returned to the people of the town. She did this with the sole aim of scoring points for her election, and now it seems she may regret her actions. Twitter, whilst not exactly a sane or nice place at the best of times, appears to have gone on the attack against Edwards, with even a call from George Galloway MP for her to resign (although we don’t really think that carries much weight in our opinion).

We think ‘Les the Croc’ says it best out of just this small sample of comments Sarah’s assistant is going to be reading. The Labour party are now stuck in the same position the Conservatives were, at the end of the day no-one was able to efficiently deal with the asylum backlog without using these hotels to do it. Conservatives had never of course intended to do something so divisive and unpopular when their support was already on the wane. This is a circumstance the country faced regardless of political colour, and the riots we are seeing in Tamworth tonight are the result of stoking the fires of the racist arseholes, to have an excuse to come out and cause trouble.

Labour and especially Sarah Edwards, used this as a political points scoring exercise, and now we see how dangerous that was. Not to mention that a few months after the election, the asylum seekers in the hotel have not been moved anywhere more appropriate for them to be, or had their claims processed. It’s also gone very quiet from Labour on how they will deal with them arriving here in the first place, having now scrapped the Rwanda plan which had actually had our asylum seekers scrambling for Ireland rather than being reported there.

We sadly felt that the results of tonight’s riots would be nothing less than those in Rotherham, especially given the proximity and the chance for the vile organisers of these faux protests to find their way here. These people are a shit stain on our society and despite Labours supposed tough line to be imposed on them, we don’t trust them to follow through with any real punishment. We should be deporting the ‘protestors’ rather than most of the immigrants who have mostly lived here in this town peacefully for 4 years.

Edwards has a lot to answer for in the morning. We do wonder what she will have to say. We very much doubt calls for her to resign will be answered. Such immature behaviour from our towns MP in respect of this situation will probably be a sign of further things to come.

Seems Edwards was aware of goings on from the safety of her home in Mosley:
