Dont they look a happy bunch. Edwards has her usual social media pinned on smile, others in this crowd look like they’re dying inside. We expect the ‘winning’ party to all have grins slapped on their faces, especially when they have important guests. Here we have the Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker cosying up to career politician former MP for Moseley North Sarah Edwards. We’d love to have our readers caption the picture and send us your entries. We will update the page with any we get, or make a new post.

Edwards ‘hosted’ Parker a few days ago, she’s presumably got enough material to use for a number of social media posts with him. She didn’t see the irony of calling for change in Tamworth, when she was the incumbent Labour MP and her mates in the local Labour party now control the council. She also didn’t see the irony of taking the Mayor on a tour of what she calls ‘our’ town centre (yes Sarah it is ours and you know nothing about it and definitely don’t live here still since ‘your’ flat is used for campaign storage) and walking him past all of the regeneration work that the Tories kicked off with Tory government money, prior to being kicked out.

We aren’t quite sure, when the Labour MP wannabe is showcasing Tory achievements in her social media posts, what change exactly she is expecting, or what change Tamworth people are going to get, with her and Labour at the helm. It’s an uncomfortable fact for her that the greatest achievement of the last Labour council prior to 2004, was the awful block paving she and the Mayor are walking on down Market Street (in red no less).

We already know that many of the people in this photo don’t particularly like Edwards and don’t want her as their parliamentary candidate. Some of them are our Labour Councillors who tellingly fail to get a mention in her list of people who will make the change happen. No “with our Labour Council” among the Midland Mayor MP and Government, which shows her apparent disdain for her bottom of the pack Council colleagues. Unfortunately the power of the unions as they are, she’s unfortunately here whether they like it or not. If she doesn’t win in July, we certainly don’t expect her to be sticking around in Tamworth though, which might be a relief to some.
